Self storage works by renting a secure unit for as long as you need, giving you a private space to store personal or business items. You choose a unit size, move your belongings in, lock the unit with your own padlock and access it whenever you need. At Storage Time, we offer simple online booking, 24/7 access, CCTV security and flexible monthly or weekly rentals.
Yes — Storage Time is highly secure. Our CCTV is monitored 24/7 by a professional monitoring company, and our in-house security team and office staff also actively watch the cameras. We use motion detection, rapid response teams, and have on-site security at our Stockport facility.
A padlock is required to keep your storage unit secure. Storage Time sells four different high-quality padlocks at our reception, making it easy to purchase one when you move in.
Our indoor units range between 15–200 sq ft, while our drive-up containers range from 80–320 sq ft. Storage Time also provides larger spaces such as studios, offices and smart warehouses from 250 sq ft to 15,000 sq ft.

For UK citizens, two forms of ID are required, including a photo ID such as a passport or driving license. Non-UK citizens must provide a BRP or visa, along with a passport or UK driving license, and a utility bill dated within the last three months.
We will beat any local quote for the storage unit if presented within 28 days of moving in. The rate will be fixed for a maximum period of time after which we will revert back to our standard rate. We will match introductory offers. The storage unit must be of the same size and have the same height. Offer does not include the warehouse (smart) storage.

You can benefit from our FREE VAN HIRE, allowing you to use the van for the day, or you can opt for our FREE COLLECTION, where we will pick up your items directly from your location. Alternatively, feel free to bring your goods to our facility yourself, giving you complete control over the transportation process.
Our indoor self storage sites are equipped with trolleys and pallet trucks, which are available for customers to use free of charge. These tools make it easier for you to move your items within our facility. Additionally, forklifts are available upon request and can only be operated by trained staff members to ensure safety and efficiency.
Our indoor self storage facilities have designated loading bays or you can opt for our drive-up self storage facilities where you can drive straight up to your unit to load/unload. All of our sites have free parking available on-site.

You can collect or view your box at any time within the operating hours and days, however, there may be a short wait for us to retrieve your box. With access to your viewing lounge, you can benefit from Free WiFi whilst your box arrives.
We either dispose of your items ourselves or using trusted third-party removal companies. Either way we ensure that your box is disposed securely.
There is always a risk of items being damaged during collections or postal, whether for box storage or self-storage. Our drivers aim to be careful when handling and transporting collections or deliveries.
We do not usually charge for your box to be returned, however, this may be dependent on the time you have stored your box with us.
Postal and delivery of boxes only operate weekdays, however, you are free to collect your box on the weekend from our site.
We recommend contacting our approved insurance provider for more information.
We do not recommend fragile items for box storage as boxes are often stored on racks, we therefore, recommend you use our self-storage for fragile goods.
We do not recommend storing large items such as furniture in box storage as you would require them to be placed in suitable boxes which often taken up more space and are more costly. Our self-storage units would be a better option for this.
