£1 FIRST MONTH Storage Offer

Our £1 (or £1.00) for the first month offer is available for any of our self-storage units of any size at our Stockport location. Please note that this offer does not include warehouse storage units. This promotion is exclusively available to new customers of Storage Time.

The first month is calculated on a 4-week basis, so customers are charged £1 for their initial 4 weeks. To qualify for the offer, customers must commit to a minimum stay of 12 weeks. If a customer decides to cancel their subscription before completing the 12-week minimum, the offer will be revoked, and they will be charged the full agreed price for the initial period.

This offer cannot be combined with any other promotions and is limited to one member per household. Storage Time reserves the right to withdraw this offer at any time.

24/7 Access

Customers of our self-storage facility are offered 24/7 access to their storage units for maximum convenience. However, access is subject to certain terms and conditions to ensure the safety, security, and smooth operation of the site. While the facility is accessible at all times, please note that our standard office hours are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. All customer service enquiries, including booking of appointments for out-of-hours access, must be made during these times.

Access may be restricted on bank holidays in line with our operational and security policies. On such occasions, either limited access or full closure may apply. We will always endeavour to give prior notice of any restrictions via email, notices at the facility, or on our website.

Out-of-hours access (including evenings, weekends, and times outside of regular operating hours) is available strictly by appointment. Appointments must be booked at least 24 hours in advance and during our office hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM). We reserve the right to refuse or reschedule out-of-hours access requests at our discretion.

Customers are required to use their individual access codes or keys to enter the premises. For security reasons, access is logged and monitored, and customers must not share their access credentials with anyone who is not registered on their account. The use of the storage facility is limited to legal, non-hazardous, and non-residential purposes, and any breach of these terms may result in temporary suspension or permanent revocation of access rights.

Boxes & Packaging

You can conveniently purchase your boxes, packaging, and accessories through our online box shop or directly at our physical store locations. For your convenience, we accept payment via credit or debit cards. When you make a purchase online, you will receive a confirmation email verifying your order along with an order confirmation number. All items purchased online are based on a collection-only basis. You can then visit your chosen store during office hours to collect your order. If you wish to have the items delivered, please contact your local store and enquire about delivery. If any items are out of stock, a member of our team will promptly contact you to provide an estimated collection or delivery date.

Please ensure your items are collected within 3 working days of purchase; otherwise, they may be released back into stock. As a new customer, you are entitled to a 25% discount on your initial order when you present us with your quote, reservation, or confirmation. Please note that this discount is only available for your first order and is not automatically added; it must be requested. We cannot apply this or any other offers to orders that have already been completed. This offer excludes multi-pack packaging and cannot be combined with other promotions unless expressly agreed by us. It is important to note that this offer has no cash alternative and may be withdrawn by Storage Time at any time.

For existing customers who confirm an order over the phone, in person, or in store, if agreed by the customer, their order will be added to their subscription and charged using the card details provided for their subscription. If you wish to order from us, you do not have to be an existing or potential customer. Our boxes, packaging, and accessories are available for anybody to purchase.

 

Items displayed on our online box shop or website are for display purposes only. The customer agrees that there may be slight variations in appearance in the product purchased.

Changes to Account

To ensure smooth access and management of our self-storage units, we facilitate multiple member access. For the safety and security of our facility, your valuables, and other customers, we can only provide access to the customer who has taken out a self-storage unit with us. Should you wish to allow another individual access to your storage unit, please notify us in writing, granting access to 'Alternate Access Person/s' (AAP). You will need to provide us with the necessary contact details of the additional authorised person/s.

By granting an AAP access to your self-storage unit, you agree that the AAP is bound by the license agreement terms and conditions and that you are responsible for their actions. Any modifications to contact information, storage arrangement, or insurance terms must be communicated to us in writing for license adjustment.

 

Content Protection (Store-Protect)

We require all customers to have content protection for their stored goods while at Storage Time. This ensures that your items are covered correctly while in storage, as most home insurance policies do not extend cover to goods kept outside your home address. Our Store-Protect cover is designed specifically for self-storage customers and provides a simple, reliable way to stay protected.

To determine the cost of your cover, you’ll need to assess the full replacement value of your items. 

If you ever need to make a claim, please contact your local store and a member of our team will guide you through the process. Claims cannot exceed the value you’ve selected for your protection, so it’s important that your declared value is accurate.

Customers are welcome to arrange their own insurance if they prefer, entirely at their own risk. However, we strongly recommend choosing Store-Protect, as it ensures your cover remains active and avoids the risk of an external policy expiring or lapsing without notice.

We’re also happy to price-match any genuine quote for equivalent cover to ensure you receive the best value.

Please make sure you review your cover regularly and update us if the value of your stored items changes. In the event of a claim, Storage Time cannot be held responsible if you are under-insured or if your chosen cover level does not reflect the full replacement value of your goods.

Storage Time is not an insurance company and acts solely as a facilitator for the Store-Protect policy, which is provided and administered by a third-party insurer. While we’re happy to explain how the cover works, we are not authorised to provide insurance or financial advice, including recommendations on how much cover you should take. It is your responsibility to decide on the appropriate replacement value for your stored items.

 

Deliveries

For any incoming deliveries, please inform your designated store of the delivery date and time slot, if applicable. All deliveries must be clearly labeled with the name specified on the license. Any refused delivery or requiring re-delivery will incur expenses borne by the customer. Deliveries must strictly align with our office opening hours.

Deliveries exceeding the capacity of our 9ft locker space may incur additional charges, refusal, or placement in our loading bay without security. Please note that our team may be unable to assist in unloading deliveries and will not be liable for any resulting damage or injury unless due to negligence.

Unclaimed deliveries in the loading bay for 24 hours or in secure storage for 7 days will be subject to charges. Items remaining unclaimed for over 30 days will be disposed of.

Please contact your store to inquire about the availability of forklift services if needed.

All pallets must be promptly removed from the site and are the customer's responsibility.

Container deliveries will not be accepted at any of our sites due to potential obstruction to other customers and surrounding areas, and will consequently be refused.

 

Free Boxes

Our complimentary box offer is subject to availability, with a limited allocation released each month. The number of free boxes provided may vary depending on your storage unit size, and the offer applies only to customers committing to a minimum 12-week stay.

This promotion is exclusively available to students and customers transferring from another self-storage facility. It does not apply to all new customers.

For students, free boxes are available on request. Proof of student ID or university placement may be required. Students who have already reserved storage with us can collect boxes from our site free of charge or have them delivered to their student accommodation within a 10-mile radius of our store. Students without a prior reservation can still collect boxes from our site with a £2 deposit per box, which will be credited to their account once storage is booked.

For customers switching from another self-storage company, free boxes are also available. Proof of current storage at another facility may be required. Customers already using one of our sites and transferring internally are not eligible. Delivery is available within a 10-mile radius, subject to availability and scheduling.

A valid booking confirmation with your selected Storage Time store is required to claim this promotion. Storage Time reserves the right to amend or withdraw this offer at any time without prior notice.

 

Free Collections

Our free collection service is exclusively offered to new customers, students, and for certain storage sizes within a 10-mile radius of your chosen store, provided the unit is booked for a minimum of 12 weeks. If a customer books for 12 weeks but cancels before completing this period, a £50 collection charge will apply.

To schedule a complimentary collection, please contact your designated store to secure a time slot, which is subject to availability. For students, specific dates may be available in your area, so we recommend booking well in advance. We always aim to accommodate eligible customers to the best of our availability.

Customers transferring from another self-storage facility may also qualify for our complimentary collection service, subject to providing proof of current storage elsewhere. However, existing Storage Time customers moving between our own sites do not qualify for this offer.

Please note, our free collection service is limited to one van load during a one-hour slot. This offer applies only when moving in, not when moving out. We do not provide a removal service as part of this promotion. Customers are responsible for loading and unloading their own items, and our driver’s responsibility does not extend to lifting, carrying, or handling goods at any point.

Our drivers are not insured to move or handle items, and Storage Time accepts no liability for any injury or damage that may occur while customers are loading or unloading their belongings. For student customers only, our drivers may assist where possible and safe to do so, but this is offered purely as a goodwill gesture.

Collections are available Monday to Friday between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM only. Weekend collections are not available.

Our vans are designed to accommodate items from storage units up to 50 sq ft. We cannot be held responsible if your items exceed this capacity or require multiple trips.

If access to your collection address is restricted, or if paid parking or special arrangements are required, this remains the customer’s responsibility unless agreed in writing with your store or allocated driver prior to collection.

Customers must be present for their collection. Failure to be available may result in refusal or rescheduling charges.

If you wish to extend your one-hour free collection slot, or prefer a man-and-van service, please contact your store for pricing details.

Before collection, you will be asked to sign a waiver confirming that your items have been inspected for damage. Storage Time takes every reasonable precaution to handle goods with care during transit, but transporting goods using our free collection service is entirely at your own risk, and we cannot accept responsibility for accidental damage that may occur during collection, transit, or delivery.

Free Van Hire

The free van hire service offered by Storage Time is available to new customers who meet specific eligibility criteria and commit to a minimum 12-week rental period. Customers must arrange van hire in advance through their designated Storage Time store, taking into account availability and peak periods. Usage of the van is limited to the agreed duration and mileage allowance. Any additional mileage or time beyond the free period may incur charges at Storage Time’s prevailing rates.

The free van hire is available for single use, limited to one day only, and is strictly intended for transporting items directly from their current location to the storage facility. The van must not be driven to any other destinations, including tip sites, and must remain within a 20-mile radius of the storage facility.

Customers must return the van to Storage Time on the same day it is collected — it cannot be left overnight at another address. The van must be returned with the same level of fuel it was provided with. If the van is returned with less fuel, the difference will be charged. No reimbursement will be given for any additional fuel added but not used.

Customers are required to purchase a fully comprehensive insurance policy for the van at an additional cost. General motor policies do not cover hire vehicles and will not be accepted.

Customers must meet all legal driving requirements, including holding a valid licence appropriate for the vehicle. During the rental period, customers are responsible for safely loading, securing, and transporting all items. Storage Time accepts no liability for injury or damage during loading or unloading. Any damage to the van during hire will be assessed and charged accordingly.

All vans are fitted with tracking devices and immobilisers. Storage Time reserves the right to immobilise a van at any time without notice if reckless driving or misuse is suspected.

Storage Time may modify or withdraw the free van hire offer at any time without prior notice and accepts no liability for any consequential losses or damages arising from such changes. Customers must notify Storage Time promptly if they need to cancel or reschedule their booking. Failure to give adequate notice may result in charges or forfeiture of the free service.

Customers are responsible for all parking fines, tickets, or penalties incurred during the hire period.

Identification Checks

At Storage Time, ensuring the safety of both our staff and customers is paramount. Therefore, all individuals signing up for a self-storage unit are required to undergo a thorough identification verification process. This procedure helps us maintain a secure environment within our facilities.

We may request two forms of identification for verification purposes, such as a driver's license and a utility bill displaying your home address. Additionally, identity verification may be required through our procedures to confirm your identity accurately.

 

Please note that if you fail any of our identification checks, Storage Time reserves the right to cancel your self-storage reservation. This policy is implemented to uphold the safety and security standards we adhere to for the benefit of all our customers.

 

Lowest/Best Price Guarantee

At Storage Time, we are committed to offering competitive pricing for our self-storage units. We pledge to beat any local quote for self-storage units presented within 28 days of move-in, within a 10-mile radius of our store. The discounted rate agreed upon will remain fixed for a specified period, after which our standard rate will apply. Additionally, we may match introductory offers from other self-storage providers.

 

To ensure eligibility for our price match guarantee, all quotes from other self-storage sites must be presented in a proper quote format, including details such as the unit size, location, and quoted price. Please note that we are unable to offer a lower price guarantee for prices based solely on listings from a competitor's website.

This commitment reflects our dedication to providing you with the best value and service for your self-storage needs. If you have any questions about our price match policy or wish to discuss further, please do not hesitate to contact us.

*To qualify for our lower price guarantee, please adhere to the following conditions:

  • Same unit size

  • Like-for-like service

  • Submission of invoice or quote from the self-storage company

  • Applicable to new customers only

  • Excludes price matching with our own stores

  • Subject to availability

  • Not applicable to box storage or warehouse (smart) storage

  • Eligibility determination rests with Storage Time.

 

New Customer Offer

Introductory offers at Storage Time are designed to provide competitive rates for selected unit sizes and are exclusively available to new customers. These offers are not transferable to license transfers.

The introductory offer remains valid for the duration of the first invoice, which requires prepayment upon move-in. Once moved in, alterations to this offer are not permitted. If a customer vacates the storage unit before completing the minimum introductory offer rental period, they will be charged at the standard rate.

This policy ensures transparency and fairness in our pricing structure, aiming to provide the best value for our customers' storage needs. Should you have any questions regarding our introductory offers or require further clarification, please feel free to reach out to us.

 

NHS, Emergency Services & Armed Forces Discount

Customers employed within the NHS, emergency services, or armed forces are eligible for a 10% discount. Proof of employment, in the form of relevant photo ID, is required. The discount applies to every 4 weeks of upfront rental payment, contingent upon account status. Storage Time retains the right to revoke the discount at its discretion.

 

Prepayment Discount

Customers opting for prepayment are entitled to a discount, which can be combined with the introductory offer for new customers. Prepayment is accepted at any point during the contract term and is applicable for a maximum of 104 weeks. Storage Time reserves the right to revoke this discount.

  • Pay 3 Months and Receive 2.5% Discount

  • Pay 6 Months and Receive 5% Discount 

  • Pay 9 Months and Receive 7.5% Discount 

  • Pay 12 Months and Receive 10% Discount

 

Refer a Friend

We are pleased to offer a referral fee of £50 as a thank-you for recommending our self-storage facility to friends, family, or colleagues. To qualify for this referral reward, both you (the referrer) and the person you refer (the referee) must each remain active paying customers for a minimum period of 12 consecutive weeks. The referral fee will be processed and issued after this 12-week period has been successfully completed by both parties.

Please note that if either you or your referral defaults on any payment during the initial 12-week period, the referral fee may be withheld or revoked at our discretion. This is to ensure fairness and to protect the integrity of the referral program. The referral fee is non-transferable, has no cash alternative, and can only be claimed once per referred customer.

We reserve the right to amend or withdraw the referral program or its terms at any time, without prior notice.

Refunds & Returns 

You have the option to return any boxes or packaging bought online or in-store to your local Storage Time store within 14 days for a complete refund. To qualify for a refund, the items must be returned in their original packaging and in unused condition. A receipt is required for eligibility. If you opt to return the items by post, you will be responsible for covering the postage/shipping costs.

Upon receiving the returned items and conducting a successful inspection, we will initiate the refund process to your original payment method within 48 hours. Please note that delivery charges cannot be refunded.

Switch Storage Company

If you are currently using another self-storage facility, we offer a complimentary collection service within a 10-mile radius of our facility, alongside a price match guarantee* (refer to terms and conditions). Our team will collect your belongings from your current storage site and transport them to your selected Storage Time store, where assistance will be provided. Storage Time reserves the right to determine eligibility for collection.
